As we head towards the winter sports season, we know how important it is to support our schools, teachers, and whānau volunteers to create positive, engaging experiences for all tamariki. We’re just highlighting The Coaching Gig app, which we at (your Provincial Union) have been using for the past 4 years.

 

It’s been a fantastic digital resource for supporting our coaches, and we’re excited to share that TCG has recently released their Active Schools package. This platform is designed to support both your volunteer coaches and teachers with:

• Simple, game-based content for rugby, rippa, netball, as well as PE & movementShort, easy-to-follow videos filmed in real environments

• Sessions that maximise participation — no standing around, everyone involved

• Practical tools to build confidence and capability in delivering quality experiences

• Whether it’s in the classroom or on the field, the app helps improve engagement, inclusion, and enjoyment for all students.

 

With many of our schools relying on whānau and volunteer coaches, this is a great way to provide extra support — making coaching sessions easier to run, more fun, and more effective.
